* WHY LOOP?
I like to record sounds that can be looped; that is, they can be played over and over without any noticeable click at the end of each playback. SoundEdit lets you do that easily (you can play a loop by holding down the shift key when clicking on the "play" icon), but once you've saved the sound there's no way to loop it from the Finder. Many of my sounds don't even sound good if they're not looped, so I wrote this little application to play my loops.
* HOW TO LOOP
Just drop a Finder 7 sound file on LoopSound's icon and it will be played forever (until you quit LoopSound or drop another sound on it). Only one sound can be played at a time; if you drop another sound on the application's icon while a sound is already playing, the new sound will stop the old and start looping. You may alter the playback frequency with the "Up" and "Down" commands from the "Sound" menu; the "Reset" command will restore the original frequency. The speaker's playback volume can also be changed from the "Sound" menu. LoopSound has to load the whole sound into memory in order to play it. To play large sounds, you will have to increase LoopSound's memory partition from the "Get Infox" window in the Finder. The memory size should be about 50K more than the sound file's size.
